TUTV

TUTV is Temple University’s digital cable station. Broadcasting to the city of Philadelphia on channel 50 on Comcast digital cable and channel 45 on Verizon FIOS, TUTV features programming from the Klein College of Media and Communication and other schools and colleges within the university, as well as community and professional broadcast partners.

The Temple News

The Temple News has been the paper of record for the Temple University community since it first printed as Temple University Weekly on Sept. 19, 1921. The award-winning student publication, editorially independent of Temple, publishes every other Tuesday and daily online. It distributes 2,000 printed copies, free of charge, to nearly 30 locations on and around campus. Students have the opportunity to work as reporters and content creators for multiple sections, including News, Sports, Features, Opinion and Intersection. They can work for the paper’s multimedia department, hone their social media storytelling skills, earn commission for TTN’s advertising department and create longform enterprise packages.

Templar Yearbook

The Templar Yearbook captures the Temple experience each year for graduating seniors. The staff is comprised of student reporters, editors, designers and photographers. Students have used their experience on the Templar staff to land internships and jobs in large media markets like Philadelphia and New York at places like Hearst and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

OwlSports Update

OwlSports Update is a weekly live sports show covering Temple University Athletics, airing every Thursday LIVE at noon. In addition to our regular show, we’ve just premiered a new season of the Emmy-nominated weekly football show called Inside The Nest On OwlSports Update which features an inside look at Temple Football with in-depth highlights and analysis.

Temple Update

Temple Update, established in 1988, is an award-winning weekly, 30-minute news program produced by Temple University student volunteers and students from the TV News Production Practicum class, MSP and JRN 4596. The program covers news, events and personalities from campus and the greater Temple community.

WHIP Radio

WHIP, an acronym that stands for We Have Infinite Potential, is Temple University’s student-run Internet radio station. Whether you’re live on the air, in the studio producing a show or a commercial or selling an advertisement, you’ll get hands-on radio experience in a deadline-driven environment. WHIP gets visibility in a top-five media market as one of iHeartRadio’s top college stations. Students can create podcasts, gain play-by-play experience in the sports department or cover the Temple and surrounding communities for the news department.
